She picks and chooses verses to support her prejudices and then like a coward, she hides and says, “Don’t blame ME, I’m just telling you what God says.” D. She has no clue that her church has done enormous damage to gay people, and I suspect she doesn’t care. But, then she has demonstrated a vast ignorance about the modern world–she knows no language save English and cannot parse the original languages of the Bible; she knows nothing about ancient history or cultures; she knows nothing about modern science, like the etiology of sexual behavior. Yet, she claims to be in a postion to speak with authority on all these topics. I feel no obligation to listen to the preaching of someone who is demonstrably unedcated, and worse, lacks the basic intelligence to benefit from education. ---

Granted, within political or religious circles, it is dismissed much more slowly, which allows the likes of Ann, Rush, and Pat to seemingly live forever. But do you _really_ want “Kirk is RIGHT” bumperstickers cropping up? Do you _really_ want to use the same tools as the ones you so hate? Their methods of delivery work for them because they have an audience that is willing to let others do the thinking and make the decisions.
