Happy Birthday, **Soapy**! Ok, so today also happened to be the Sweet Avenger’s birthday. I’m only mentioning this because between our two crazy schedules we weren’t able to get together today, however, we’re meeting for breakfast in the morning after he gets off work at 6 a.m. And my dilemma (I know, big dilemma) is this do I take a shower now and go to bed with wet hair (yuck) or get up at some ungodly hour (also yuck) in the morning to take one?\* \*Not showering is not an option. 😃 ---

There are days when things go well. Earlier today I was warned that I have to work the Congressional Country Club’s AT&T Golf event tomorrow, which would normally be cause for much grumpiness, but given that most of the staff will be doing stories related to the expected Obamacare Supreme Court ruling, I’ve decided I’m probably lucky to be working golf. So I came home tonight and said to myself “Self, you need to make some food for the week!” because I definitely need to pack a lunch tomorrow. So I got to work in the kitchen and cranked out a potato salad, a cucumber & onion salad, a tuna salad and my summertime favorite: the tuna macaroni salad. Now that everything is done and in the fridge I had a bowl of the tuna mac and well… it was like crack cocaine for the tastebuds! Maybe the best I’ve ever made! I had a second bowl and now I’m basking in food buzz heaven. Happy birthday Soapy and goodnight all! ---

It’s not pleasant to wake up in a dream about a burglar being in the basement, especially when he looks like a monster from a 40s era movie. I wanted to sleep a little longer, but not possible after that. Oh well… Today is the leading edge of a heat wave that’ll extend thru the weekend. ugh. When I finally decide to put some grubbies on, I’m going to try to finish edging the front garden - the chore I started a couple of weeks ago and never got back to. We’ll see how much I can get done before it becomes too oppressive. I found a recipe for shrimp scampi that looks pretty good and since daughter is coming over tonight for supper, we’ll have that. Sometime today, I’m going to run out and get a sack o’ salad to go with it. And that’s pretty much my big plan for the day. \*\*FCD \*\*is heading back to Johnstown Mon and Tues, and we’ll spend the balance of the week gutting the boat and starting to put it back together. Unless the heat is too much - we shall see. But whether we keep it or sell it, we’ve got a lot of work to do on the interior. My 3 tomato plants are laden with 'maters, and I’ve managed to pick 2 of the cherry 'maters before the squirrel got 'em. Two of the big ones had to be flung into the woods - they had rot or something - but the other 3 that I’d picked were tasty. None of the other big 'uns are ripening yet. Their greenness taunts me from my window… I need to remember to water them all today. \*\*BBBobbio \*\*- what are your big leisure plans? I need to find some breakfast-like substance.
