More excitement in my life. TS Danny has been declared; the composite forecast models have it centered about 80 miles east of Duck, NC at 8 AM Saturday. Duck is about 70 miles east of Mayberry, on the Outer Banks. I must call my kid and blame him, having apparently inherited VWife’s talent. 😉 ---

I vacuumed, second load of laundry is in the machine, \*\*FCD \*\*is snarfing down some leftover chicken and I’m going to make some pasta to go under some leftover sauce. Here is Simon, in all his glory (well, when he was thinner–he weighed 23 pounds when he died). He was a large cat–larger than some small dogs. He was quite long and beefy looking, even when he was thin. [SimonOnTheProwl](http://www.flickr.com/photos/19350879@N07/3859871286/) It has rained on and off here, quite heavily, all day. We do need it, but it drove a stake through any ambitions I had to Get Things Done Today. Rainy days make me want to curl up with tea and a murder mystery. So I did for a while this afternoon. Tonight is Daughter’s Dinner: a sit down family dinner before she goes back to school on Friday. I have an extremely busy next 10 days coming up–another reason I have no ambition today. I did do some laundry and run some errands. Leftovers are wonderful dinners, **FCM,** no? Restaurant leftovers are even better because you didn’t cook them! Daughter’s request is Mom’s homemade mac and cheese. Me, I’m sick of it, but it’s nice that she likes it. 🙂 Crud. Just talked to TH–he had an interview today. He ended up being 20 minutes late for it. Gah. Damn construction on the Bishop Ford–it’s made me late to work several times this summer. Not a good impression to make for an interview, though. He says he has some news, but didn’t want to talk and drive (understandable). So, we’ll see… ---

Well, yanno that leftover sauce that I was going to put on the pasta that’s boiling? It was actually leftover baked beans. I did find the sauce, so the beans will be a side. Sketties and beans. Yum. :rolleyes: ---

I think I might pull out my rollerblades after work. I haven’t used them in ages because the path I used to go on got tarred and gravelled last year, and gravel - even the fine kind that they used - doesn’t work for 'blades. But there’s a trail ~5 miles north of home that’s paved that should be good. I think I’ll check it out. Sounds like fun. Assuming I can find the blades. ---

OUR **taxi** like Fran Drescher? Bite your tongue! No way–I see\*\* taxi\*\* as more of a Helen Hunt kind of person (like her character Jamie whatever on whatever that show was–that’s helpful, no?). (I know you said she wasn’t–I’m just being “difficult”). 🙂 I wonder if an MMP shouldn’t start off some week with what TV or film character does each Mumper remind you of? I think there would have to be caveats, like just because someone puts together a bizarre combo doesn’t mean it’s a slight on the Mumper so regarded (or the one so regarding). Is this an idea with legs? Anyone? Bueller? Daughter Dinner was successful, but sadly work did not call and tell me to stay home tomorrow and rest my tootsies for the upcoming NIGHTMARE that will be this weekend in yes, Boston. We WOULD pick the weekend of Ted Kennedy’s funeral to move her into her housing. Not only that, my parent’s house is ON the Cape, about an hour away from Hyannis. Unfortunately, it is on the way to Hyannis… Kill me now. (I respect Ted, I just don’t want to deal with the crowds. I was there that summer when John-John’s plane went down. All the press were in Woods Hole–which is a tiny hamlet next to the town where my parent’s summer. It was crazy). ---

**Rigs** , you may be in luck–they are taking him north tomorrow to Boston, so the Cape will be in normal weekend nuttyness. I plan on avoiding Rt 3 tomorrow as much as possible–sounds like a good day to stay in or go to Framingham. Heads up on presidental motorcades Saturday.
