Hey, I just got the 8th from **Ellen** , who I thought got it from you. This allows us to make somebody **Munch** drunk, which is cool, but also get’s us all birthday kisses from Ms. **Blossom**. I’m not touching Cherry’s maiden thing with a ten foot pole. Unless I’m invited to, in which case no one else might even get there. That’s even confused me, which is no small feet. Or fete. Whatever. **Sophie, Sophie, Sophie** , can we renegotiate your participation somehow? Or we can keep you on the phone the whole time, it will be the weekend and I have scads of weekend and night minutes. Plus my mobile only seems to work in a car, never at anyone’s house. You guys say the sweetest things. I can’t come because I am in the process of adopting a two-year-old and a five-month-old, my niece and nephew, Dyanne and Knight. For those of you who knew me before: I was childless until the 8th. Talk about a crash course in motherhood. Freaky stuff. I used to have an ungodly aversion to runny noses and, uh, other baby byproducts. I guess the aversion hasn’t gone away; it has just been muted for the time being…and for the next two or three years. So, I haven’t been posting much because I have no time, and I can’t come because the kids need me (or is it that Mr. Sophie needs me?). Either way, now just isn’t good for our family. Mr. Sophie wants me to go on another trip because he’s the kind of guy who wants me to have adventures, and he has promised me that things will settle down soon. In fact, I was thinking that we should have a little birthday party for **ts** in February. Or maybe it could be a “Sophie Gets Away” party. Hell, I’m not picky. **SuperStud** , my cell has changed. The 7th would have been a better weekend to be in Lexington, since there are two great shows at Lynagh’s–Alejandro Escovedo on the 7th, the Asylum Street Spankers on the 8th. (Not to mention the UK-UNC basketball game on the 8th.) I have a residency interview in North Carolina on the 14th, and another in Virginia on the 17th, and I haven’t decided if I’m coming back to old Kentucky in between or not. Hey, speaking of pictures, (no, I’m not sure _who_ was, but I’m fairly sure _someone_ did) what’s the odds of us being near a Mall. We could shove the little kids aside and get a group shot with Santa. Wouldn’t _that_ be cool? And **Sophie** , if Mr. Sophie wants you to “go on another trip because he’s the kind of guy who wants me to have adventures” isn’t it a little selfish of you not to? Maybe he wants some quality alone-time with the mucous factories so they can bond. It’s very important for a Dad to bond with the kids. I read that in a book somewhere.
