A murder of crows just landed in our trees!

We have a murder of Crows in my neighborhood. I love listening to their coarse caws.

I have a lovely app on my phone that listens to bird noises and returns the most likely species. It tells me that what I listen to most frequently is Corvus ossifragus- the Fish Crow. Ravens are bigger, with a different wing shape - these are definitely crows, rather than Ravens, when I watch them fly overhead.

Really I love all corvids, , though I do love ravens in particular. And I rarely, if ever, steal any corvids at all. I can’t help it if they want to come with me.

I wish they’d stay for a short while then leave our place.

I don’t mind them as such but they tend to promote a monoculture. They turn up and all the other birds vanish.
