I am an interpreter myself, and have mostly worked in a booth, with a colleague or two. That is simultaneous interpreting, as opposed to consecutive or to whispering (_chuchotage_) interpreting. Here is a **[rather basic model](https://www.audipack.com/product/silent-9600-interpreter-booth-iso-4043-including-ventilation-and-led-lighting/)**, here you see a **[video by a colleague](https://youtu.be/569O0bXXoMY?t=42)** from the European Parliament with good standards. So in my experience interpreters come in booths. The Spanish booth is also the collective noun for all the interpreters working for the Spanish Language Unit at the European Parliament, there is also a Spanish booth in the Council (**[SCIC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directorate-General_for_Interpretation)** - _Service Commun Interprétation-Conférences_) that also works for the Commission. Same for the German booth, the English booth, the Greek booth and so on, for a total of 23 booths. Biggest interpreting service in the world, lots of languages, lots of meetings.
