Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated, purtified and waitin’ on ol’ y’all know who to complete purtification. Then we’re headed out to church followed by lunch at the good local Hibachi place. YUM! It promises to be clear and hot today so I’m thinkin’ some quality pool time will be in order. We could kill the rest of the Miller Chill poolside. Sounds like a plan to me! So, there’s a brawl goin’ on about purses? Wonder if I could start one about wallets? 😃 **Moooooom** go for the black one. Ya gotta mix things up. That’s what keeps life innerestin’. Too bad you don’t have any bacon salt for the french toast casserole. Bacony french toast…MMMMMMM… Later Y’all! ---

Interesting, **FCM**. I wonder where the idea for that exhibit came from. I think I’m going to have to go myself so that I can reassure my friends that it’s not gross. I’ve always regretted not taking anatomy and physiology in high school; something that’s really informative and goes in an artistic direction might fill that gap in a little bit. Thanks for the info. Hmmm…blue cheese and rocket penne sounds yum, **Dotty**. Recipe? French toast casserole reminds me that I need to make some again… My purse is from Kohl’s. Can’t think of a purse that I’d want to have for years and years. (The one before that one was from Macy’s; also not an incredible investment; lasted 5 years and then the strap broke. That’s probably about the longest I can stand a purse. I can’t stand moving purse stuff around, so I always use the same purse.) Please note I’m posting here and not over there. That thread scares me. I’d never even heard of Vera Bradley before. Yes, we missed you, **SO**. Glad it was a relaxing vacation. May I order one of those too? Now I’m on page 284. Need to go water. Then to church. Then read more. Then meet friends for a garden tour (top 10 signs that it’s summer…). Should do laundry too. Back eventually…(I feel like I’m in a little HP7 cocoon.) GT ---

I have a purse. It hasa strap, and it holds stuff. I am not going into that thread. I’m up, and trying to decide if I feel sick, so I know whether or not I’ll be going to Mass. I don’t want to get there and puke. I think I feel a little icky, so it’s probably no church today. Should haul Mr. Lissar out of bed. ---

Hey **Special1** , where’s the wake-up call this morning?! I’m up, but no wake-up call. Harumph! My purse is sewn. And I tiptoed through the purse thread. There’s Pit threads that are less vicious. Nope, **swampy** , I doubt you could start one like that about wallets, but try women’s shoes and you might have a go. Meow! Getting up early must make me grouchy. 😃 My plan for the day is farmer’s market and church. Hopefully, I don’t snap someone’s head off. Look out world, here I come. ---

Good morning everyone. I read your vacation thread **FCM.** It sounds very nice, albeit hot. Yeah, I was a _fool_ to enter that purse thread and actually post in there. Sheesh, who knew?! FTR, I’m not into expensive purses either; the one I have was a Christmas gift, and I was sick to my stomach at the thought of how much it cost. I tend to stay with one purse for years because I’m picky about the features I want. Must zip on top, must have separaters or dividers, must be sturdy, must look attractive, etc. So, with all those things in mind, it takes me awhile to find one. **Swampy,** that stuff you and your sweetie were drinking sounds like a German spradler. Beer and sprite mixed. My mother used to drink those on hot summer days. She’s not a beer fan, so this was about the only way she’d drink beer. We’re going to head to the Hangar Inn for some breakfast soon. **Mr. Taters** is already drooling at the thought of sausage gravy over his hash browns. The Hangar Inn is a little restaurant at the airfield down the road. It’s kind of cool to watch the planes taking off and landing. If it wasn’t raining, we could sit outside. Alas, it’s raining…again. ---

I have no purse. Went to dinner with a couple friends last night, then to a local parish GermanFest thing. Ooompa bands, Warstiener and a bingo tent. Good times. I’m on about pg 222 of HP7, as I said, I HAVE read spoilers, but I do that, and knowing where the book is going doesn’t really spoil a story for me. So, I’m not rushing through the thing. Still, I figure by the time Lovely Wife and I get back from the shopping/errand trip we’re about to go on, I’ll have plenty of time to finish it tonight sometime. Cuervo says hi everyone! Reduce heat to medium-low and add the crumbled blue cheese, stirring for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts. Remove from heat and stir in the rocket leaves. 4. Add the sauce to the pasta and gently toss to combine. Serve immediately in shallow serving bowls sprinkled with black pepper. Good Sunday afternoon! I have made a small dent in my Harry Potter book (LOL not a literal dent, of course); it’s going to take me a while to read, I think, but that’s okay. My daughter will have “custody” of the book during the week while I’m at work, so then we’ll be able to discuss it. **FCM** , great vacation thread, btw (I’m heading there in a bit!). That purse thread frightens me as well. I love purses and will splurge on good ones, but ye gods, when the cost goes over $100, that’s too much!! :eek: **Swampy** , for some reason I keep seeing your name as Swampbeer now. 😉 I saw a commercial for the Miller Chill last night too - it’s beer with lime juice and salt? Dunno … maybe I’ll try it; the only time beer tastes good to me, though, is when it’s really hot out and the beer is ice cold. 😃 Aww, Cuervo says hi!! Hey **MBG** , time for some new pics of him!! 🙂 I’ve never had a passport, but am now thinking of getting one. Apparently, they’re still way backlogged in processing them here in the US, though, and geeze, it costs over $100 (when you had the cost of the passport pics in). Gotta have one even to go to Canada or Mexico, if you want to get back into the US. Our Federal Government - working to serve US citizens! ---

My mouth is watering over the blue cheese pasta thingy. Where has\*\* SpatialRift\*\* been? Come back, come back… Whoever said about the HP bubble–I felt the same way. I am tempted to go see the movie again, but think it’d be better for me to go see “Hairspray” (although I have no fondness for John Revolta, oops-Travolta). I really, really need to go do some grad school work. I leave on Friday to go to Cape Cod for the weekend (calm down, it’s with my parents and kids). Maybe what I really learned was to never mention the word purse again…heh. (I buy what I like, but also have a budget. The Vera Bradley’s look like old lady purses to me, the Coach bags USED to be classic, good quality leather-now they look like knock-offs, and I can’t afford Louis Vitton, so it’s Kohl’s, Target or Carson’s for me. I also hate to switch purses-I do one winter and one summer. I don’t have a shoe or bag thing-my daughter has a bad bag addiction. Sometimes I wonder if I really have xx chromosomes…) ---

We’ve gone out and had breakfast and then went to Fred Meyer to pick up a few things. While there, we picked up HP for the daughter. There were tons and tons of those books there. I think I’ll go peruse the paper for a bit and then work on tidying up a little. ---

I talked to him a little bit; says he’s been busy but he’ll be back. And I have no bacon salt but I do have a purse. I am fairly picky on exactly what kind of purse, but I still buy them cheap. I have not bought the HP book. I’m feeling burned out by all the frenzy and really feel kind of uninterested. Maybe tomorrow _shrug_. ---

I hope Noor feels better soon, **Dotty**. That does sound frustrating. But if you’re keeping her well hydrated and electrolyted, she can manage a surprisingly long time just fine. The good news about babies is that while they can be fragile, they can also be just astonishingly resilient. I’ve had a seriously lazy day, sitting on the sofa and knitting and watching golf. I’ve never played a round of golf in my life, but I do enjoy watching the major tournaments; the shots those guys hit well are amazing, and since this was the British Open, the shots they screwed up on were magnificently hilarious! I’ll get around to buying the Harry Potter book when I happen to go to a store that’s selling it. Since I haven’t gone anywhere for two days except to the dog beach, it hasn’t happened yet. And I did venture into the purse thread, but only briefly. And learned that Vera Bradley are all those bags I’ve been seeing women carry around here that look an _awful_ lot like my knitting bag. They look like they’d make great knitting bags, actually. I may find a pattern that’s pretty and get one on eBay or something (for far less than the original price, natch!). Because some of them also have lots of little pockets to put all my odds & ends of knitting stuff in. But I did buy bacon salt. As a surprise gift for Papa Tigs. He’s gonna _love_ it. 😃 Now that i have inserted a lifeline into my knitting, wouldn’t you know I’ve had no more problems with it. Grrr. I’m sure when I start the next pattern section, I’ll need a lifeline then, though, at least until I can see the pattern growing. Knitting can be very annoying. But when it turns out right? Oh my goodness, it’s gorgeous. I’ll take photos of this shawl when it’s done; you guys won’t believe how beautiful it is. I don’t myself! The only other productive thing I’ve done today was make plans and let Papa Tigs find me a deep discount plane ticket to go to Miami this fall for my oldest friend’s son’s bar mitzvah. Kathi and I met the first week of college and have been close friends since; adding up the years, we’ve now known each other for over 35 years. Oy! But needless to say, we’ve been close for so long that I’m family. Plus she loves having me come to these events because I have an interesting job: I get to tell off her supremely obnoxious brother-in-law, who’s an utter jerk. She likes me there to say all the things she can’t say. 😃 Hey, at her older son’s bar mitzvah a few years ago, the guy was being a total ass, and once I chided him for it in words of one syllable, it was fun to see how many other family members joined in with me. 😃 What are old friends for, anyway? 😃 Papa Tigs is so talented. He was just able to completely delete a virus from his computer that even our super-good firewall couldn’t get rid of. He knows how to find that stuff. But it’s so sneaky these days – he was just browsing websites doing some research for something-or-other, and managed to pick up a virus that would pull up an order form to buy security software – that would get rid of the virus that the company had just put on his computer! I don’t have any idea how he finds all that kind of stuff, but he does; he speaks _incredibly_ fluent computer! He’s useful to have around, needless to say. 🙂 I guess I should go do something useful. What I _really_ want to do is take a nap, but it’s too late. Grr. ---

I got me a new purse, and I really splurged - $9.88, and it came with a calculator and a mirror! 😃 My kid took my old purse - she doesn’t care that it doesn’t have a shoulder strap. Plus I bought her a denim purse that was on sale for $7.00. So we’re good. Her middle school friend just left with her daughter. The kid is just shy of 2, and a real pistol. We had a nice visit, and Brandy is glad the small creature is gone. Frances wasn’t mean to the cat - she just wanted to pet her, and Brandy wasn’t in the mood. Apart from purse-buying and visiting, I ironed a bunch of shirts and blouses. My vacation week is winding down - woe is me… _\_ What a rip off. ☹ On the other hand, there’s still some chocolate in the house. I feel the need to graze. ---

I am off to see Hairspray. I need a break from HP. I want to reread it, but I get so sucked into the world, that it’s better for me if I don’t. I’ll read it aloud to #2 son while we’re away. Did finish ONE project for grad school–now there is only one left (for tomorrow). Instructor says to post to the class bb–can’t find the thread.
