Hi all. Just a quick update as Noor is helping me type. Noor is doing better, although still a little poopy. She is back on formula now, but smaller amounts more frequently. Bad news is both hubby and I now have the sh\*ts! ☹ I got it last night - (TMI …) started out with vomiting and diarrhoea so bad I didn’t know which end to position over the toilet bowl. Ended up sitting on the loo and puking into the rubbish bin! Apparently it may be rotavirus, which is going around right now. Find out tomorrow when the results of Noor’s stool sample labs are ready. So for the meantime, I am signing off to go lay on the couch and feel sorry for myself. Yays, Boos and Hugs as appropriate to all. ---

[/QUOTE] Of course, I’ve made a point of having enough space for at least two guests in any home I haven’t shared. It’s one of the things I disliked about the tiny Swiss apartment, there was no way to have guests there except in sleeping bags. Is “I have visitors” a valid excuse to buy some foie gras of the varieties we don’t get in Spain? I mean, “aux fines herbes” and “a l’Oporto” are findable there, but they had one with truffles that I’d really like to try. It’s amazing, how something I hate as much as liver can turn into such goodness. **Dotty** , yay on Noor and ouch on you and the hubby. ---

Of course, living at a (literal) walking distance from the Mediterranean makes me spoiled that way… ---

Ooh, that sucks, **Dotty**. Yuck. **Bob** , I’m just adding to my list of Exciting Places in America that I’ve visited. So far: Ames, Iowa Waco, Texas Little Rock, Arkansas (and all intervening space between Toronto and L. R.) Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and in a few weeks South Bend, Indiana It’s an exciting list. I’m waiting for some of our friends to move somewhere really culturally interesting, or at least not in Iowa or Oklahoma or Arkansas. We only travel to visit people, and all our people live in places that get us stared at when we talk about our vacations. “You flew to _Waco_? For _fun_?” ---

Sharing a bed should only be done if the bed is big enough to be shared, neither person sleeps in the starfish position, neither snores like a coal locomotive approaching retirement and the notions about acceptable amount of bedcovers aren’t too antipodian. **LiLi** , the one time I went to Illinois it wasn’t to Chicago. Good mornin’ Y’all! All caffienated here. What? This is my early mornin’ now. **Dotty** I was kinda wonderin’ if this was some type of virus. Oh and, just cause… 😛 That roast I slow cooked whilst I slept looks sooooo good and smells soooooo good! It’s got a nice rich, thick gravy. I peeled and diced **N.O.T.** before I went to bed so I just gotta put em on to cook then mash up. The peas are cookin’ as I post. Gotta get the **N.O.T.** on soon and make some cornbread cause ol’ y’all who will show up betwixt 11:30 and noon to eat. **Heff** we have completely different schedules these days. See, he’s the administrator for a home health agency and is usually at work between six and seven every morning. Thus, during the week, we’ve decided we can do stuff like have lunch. Should make weekends more special. 😉 **Elle** I hear ya about cellphones. I want a phone. I do not need to take pictures. I do not need to text message. I do not need internet access. I just wanna make and receive calls. My phone is as basic a phone as I could find. It’s a flip phone and I liked the number pad on it cause the numbers are big enough and it lights up. It looks clunkier than those lil’ razor phones and such but I can see the numbers and I like that there’s a window where I can see the time without openin’ up the phone. I don’t wear watches cause I don’t like 'em, so it doubles as my watch. I never want it to die. Ok, off to finish up cookin’. Later Y’all! ---

**LiLi** , did you see my mention last night about liquid prenatal vitamins? They’re definitely available, and that might work a lot better for you than the horse pills. Something to ask your doctor about, anyway. I’m trying to decide if I work on the job I set aside to do the other rush job, which is now actually due, but since I have another rush job coming do I want to continue working on this one or take a break since I’ll have plenty to work on this evening? Decisions, decisions. The house needs a dog-dehairing and vacuuming, and I have some yarn that needs to be wound into balls, but this job _is_ late. Not that anybody cares but me, apparently. Where to start? South Bend has a beautiful campus (Notre Dame–pronounced Noter Dame–not French way). And it’s within driving distance to Chicago… The less said of Carbondale the better, although the Shawnee National Forest is gorgeous. My big brother is here, visiting. We spent last night planning The Trip–he is taking #1 son to Australia this Christmas. #1 son won’t have Xmas with us. ☹ (the first of Xmases where we will be going in different directions–and I finally don’t have to work the damned holiday. \). He is very excited. I lurve the foxes–squeeing over here. And the kitten in the cup–too much for me. Rainy here today-we need it. Work in the am. Oh, and the reason(s) I hate grad school–really just a passing exasperation. I’m getting good grades (for not my best work), but the reasons for the + or - 's are bugging me. Hard to explain w/o lots of boring detail, but essentially, the prof is commenting on stuff that isn’t in my papers! Gah. Like she says I can’t rely solely on my extensive knowledge of mysteries if I am a reader’s advisor in the future. And I never said I would or should! :rolleyes: #2 son is introducing my bro to The Princess Bride. He’s never seen it! Inconceivable! ---

Ugh! This is turning out to be a [del]shitty[/del] crappy week. I am responsible for two projects that I have had no hand in from day one, have elements that are bound to go wrong, and my team leader and department head are in Vegas. **Puggy** the cornbread’s (actually lil’ mini muffins) in the oven and should be done in about ten minutes. I’m sneakin’ back in to read and of course post. 😃 Everything else is done. It’s makin’ my tummy all rumbly cause the kitchen smells so incredible right now! **rigs** grad school professors are noted for stuff like that.
