# A mushroom is not a fucking garden vegetable!

Preach it. An oft-remembered experience from my teen years, while camping with a mob of children as part of my summer job, one of the adult chaperons gathered fresh chanterelles in the area and fried them up with butter and garlic over the campfire for us camp counselors that evening. Pure unadulterated bliss. Probably a little risky legally for the adult, but that is how we roll in Humboldt.

In which country do you live in, where serving chanterelles is against the law?

I think it’s the risk of gathering wild mushrooms and potentially poisoning children with them when it turns out you suck at ID’ing mushrooms.
