Well, since **DMark** kinda took the fun out out of the whole ‘it’s a ghost!’ game, I’ll post again if I find out anything. I will keep snooping for an answer, though. Further information as events warrant. ---

The end of the road, the light left on… obviously this place belongs to Tom Bodette. If this light made you curious and you’re not the only one who travells the road, chances are other passers by are questioning the light too. Maybe if you deepen the mystery a little bit folks will get to talking and maybe someone with some knowledge about the situation will pipe up. Next time you drive by the house you ought to move the lightbulb from the fixture on the left to the one on the right. The next week plug an oscillating fan into the porch outlet. The week after that leave a pogo stick propped up against the porch. ---

So, as promised, I have continued my quest for The Truth, and finally have enough information to make a report. The house sits at the edge of a low-lying marsh that comprises several hundred acres. This is all farm country around here, and farmers either graze their livestock or grow grass for hay. This rather large piece of property is suitable for neither. So it sits. The property is owned by someone in SW Washington, who bought it for the sole purpose of hunting. Somewhere back in the marshes is an old apple tree orchard, something deer love. That, along with the marshes that are home to numerous ducks and geese, make it an ideal private hunting ground. So whoever-it-is comes down from Washington, spends a week or weekend at a time killing things, then goes home. The house has an old oil-fired heater, and whoever-it-is has one room patched together enough to make a decent living space. He has heat, working stove and bathroom, and that’s about all he needs. The light, as you predicted, is simply on a timer. When he leaves for the season he has the water and power shut off, and the house sits empty, and dark, for another year. Sorry. No ghosts. ---
