With all due respect to my esteemed colleagues at the SDMB, I would like to point out that there is one national, nay international organization which has set up a National Week of Chocolate and Sex, in addition to several weekends throughout the year and whose members are would be happy to provide assistance in noble endeavors such as this. Moreover, these patriotic souls have chosen to ensure that week includes the Fourth of July. What is more, these people are dedicated to the notion that, in addition to chocolate, cheesecake, Reddiwhip, etc., _intelligence_ is sexy!! The organization, your humble servant is pleased to report, is Mensa, and the National Week of Sex and Chocolate is also known as the National Annual Gathering. I’m still boggled by the gentleman who stated that Reddi-Whip was a more accomodating mode of sugar delivery when combined with sex. Has he never heard of chocolate syrup? (Well, there’s always the option of combining them, for the ice-cream sundae effect.) ---

Well, there is a bright spot to my current predicament. I live within shouting distance of Hershey, Pennsylvania: The Sweetest Place on Earth. Yeah, I know, it’s Hershey and not Godiva or Lindt. I discussed this thread with Marcie. She doesn’t understand why the National Day of Sex and Chocolate can’t be observed once a week instead of once a year. She also feels that a two day period of observance would be an improvement. I tend to agree with Marcie on most things, especially this one. ---

My esteemed colleagues: As luck would have it, there really was a national Mensa meeting here today, and I mentioned our resolution to the people there assembled. They heartily approve of our plan, and will provide support, assistance, and recipes! As a Mensan in good standing and some form of Doper, I will be happy to serve as Ambassador to Geekdom if such a post is required. Your humble servant. Actually, I’m really _not_ kidding. The annual national meeting was here in my city today, and, while I stay well out of politics, I did contribute a plate of brownies and join in the non-political conversation, and I mentioned this thread.
