# a nut's shelf life

How long can a pile of mixed nuts, in shells, survive at room temperature and remain edible?

Do you mean healthily edible or desirably edible?

I have eaten stale nuts & raisins the day after the party and suffered no ill effects other than wondering why I do this even though everything tastes stale and yucky. My best conclusion is that I’m tapping into the party fever that occurs when the FRESH nuts are put out. You know, if I am eating nuts from a bowl there must be a party and I must be excited and about to have fun.
