Actually, it’s about a 3 hour round trip from where my boyfriend lives (warren) but we kind of took the scenic route traveling on a bit of the Lincoln Highway. This has been a crazy week so far, but that’s good. The business cash flow was down to nil last week, but it has picked up again. Hurray! Tomorrow we go to the neurologist for a follow-up appointment for my boyfriend. This is due to the seizure that he had about a month ago. Hopefully all will continue to be well. BTW, what’s with all the darned kitty pics around here? Aww! Bubba is adorable! Are his eyes really that green, or is that the lighting? And yes, what _is_ with the purple patch atop his head? I’m nearly done with the first batch of congressional [del]drivel[/del] work, which is most excellent indeed. This will hopefully not be _quite_ as late a night as I feared it would be. Of course, I have no idea how ghastly the next batch will be, so I may have spoken too soon. If that’s the case, please feel free to ignore me. We have had lovely steady drippy rain all day long, and it’s supposed to last for 2-3 more days! I really hope it keeps up; it is so pleasant to hear the rain pattering down. Makes for lovely sleeping weather. I plan to test it out much of the day tomorrow, after staying up too late tonight! If I come back here to play, someone please kick me back to my work, okay? Because playing with you guys is far more interesting than listening to the windbags who inhabit the Hill, alas. ---

Ever have one of those days where you are motivated out of habit? I had a day like that today. I got a fair bit of modeling done, but not because I was really into it (in fact I felt a little burnt out today) instead I was motivated because I felt obligated to be so. Ah well, at least I got some stuff done (which I am sure I will appreciate later in the week). I realized earlier this week that I have a good problem. It turns out that I have 7-8 days of vacation saved up that I need to take by the end of the year lest I lose them. Now I just have to make sure that I work out what days I can take off in the next two months with my boss. Woo hoo! Time off! Oh, and in RE the puppy pictures: Squeeee! ---

Forgot to mention that one year ago today (i.e. Wednesday) **Meli** and I went on our first date (which was detailed here that very evening). Though we aren’t considering it to be our official anniversary (that would be Nov. 10) it’s still nice to think about it… and about how incredibly awkward we were. ---

Ho hum…Don Twanna, the Italian Lobajob, is back today. Already she’s been whining because she can’t work out where the flash stick goes in the computer, then she couldn’t find it on the screen, then she grizzled because she’s got to do a presentation this afternoon (hence the flash stick, which is actually her husband’s, so I expect that means he did all the work). Oh, it was so lovely last week when she was on holiday. I’m off to the cinema tonight to see “Ratatouille” - we have free tix for our local arty cinema and this was pretty much the only thing we actually wanted to see and the tix are only valid until the end of October. So tonight we’re off to see a fillum. What fun! Bluuu-uuuurf. Brekkie et, and on my 2nd drum of caffeine. VWife sounded normal when she called and woke me up this morning. No zombie effects from lack of sleep, and no pain gasping. So, you ask, why did she wake me? Weeeeell, I was so tired that I fell asleep watching _Pushing Daisies_ :eek:, and I had a midnight fire run. Someone’s central air unit malfunctioned and was blowing smoke through the house. It’s raining, too. The ditches in along the road at the VunderLair are full to the top, and they’re about 2’ deep. More to come, with projections of 3-4" before it ends tomorrow. Never mind that we’re about 16" behind right now. At least Cottonfield County won’t look like SoCal any time soon. ---

Need coffee have to get ready to go out and watch crazy parents at bus stop then come back and get flu shot then get 75 million hours of work done in 3 then meet friend for lunch which it is her turn to buy and after which I still have a lot to do but she likes to linger and chat over lunch so I won’t get away quick but that’s ok because she’s my pal and the fact that she’s really easy on the eyes helps too then maybe I’ll get .000001% more of the work done that I have to get done before my 6 PM meeting, after which I’m going straight home to find beer. Tomorrow’s Friday, right? ---

I’m about to make tea, and then decide what needs doing before work. After today, I only need to not hit Whiny Idiot with a hammer twice more. He was soooo hungry yesterday, because he _had_ to go to the pub the night before, and he got sooooo drunk and was hungover, and couldn’t eat yesterday, and did I mind if he took his fifteenth smoke break? It would be so much better if he either didn’t try to talk to me, or could correctly interpret glazed eyes and a bored expression. ---

Good Afternoon, y’all! Back from a morning on Reserves Duty, full of the excitement of [del]listening to the same training sessions for the 100th time :rolleyes:[/del] defending my country! At work, we always have a Weekend Celebration thing on Thursday at 15:00 (since Friday is part of the weekend)… this week part of it was small glasses of some kind of lime-and-rum punch. With real rum. Lots thereof.
