Mornin’! I worked hard yesterday and worked out most of the bugs with this stoopit design. Yay for me! Today will be a bit more calm. My buddy here at work is taking me to lunch for my birthday (which is tomorrow.) I have tomorrow off! Yay! Tomorrow I plan to: Take the dogs to the dog park Go shopping for winterish clothes Get a full body massage! Get a mani-pedi Get taken out to dinner Unfortunately, this will be my last birthday ever, since I will be 49. Being 50 is out of the question, you see? So I plan to do this one up right, and spoil myself! Happy Thursday, mumpers! ---

Ahhhh, a rare Grape Schnauzer! Very adorable! 😃 I need to put some of my pupppy pics in my photo bucket. **bobbio** , how far into Pushing Dasies did you get before you fell asleep. I am getting such a kick out of that show. It is what we used to refer to as camp. I like Private Practice, too. Last night was hysterical. In honor of **lunch** a non-denominational, however fan-biased prayer sent to me by Nurse Debbie[sup]TM[/sup] who lives up tha-yuh: Our Father, who art at Fenway… Baseball be thy game. Thy Kingdom come, World Series need to be won, On Earth, then on to the Cask ‘n’ Flagon. Bleargh. It’s chilly out. The lack of wind makes it palatable, but still by no means acceptable. It’s 6° (~43F) for cryin’ out loud! I had a significant lack of sleep the night before, owing both to the fact that it got rather cold in the apartment, and more significantly, two of the cats wouldn’t stop tearing around the apartment and meowing for no reason other than to piss me off. So I ended up with some 3 or so hours of sleep. I got more last night, but I need more still. Worse, I forgot to take my vitamin pill today, so I may end up wanting to curl up under my desk for a few hours. (I’ll make up for it by taking the pill when I get home, though it kinda defeats one of the benefits, at least for today.) At least the weekend is within sight, even if the weather plans to be a miserable old bastard for the duration. I’m annoyed at Apple. I’ve been digital window shopping for an iPod Touch, having decided I do, in fact, want one. So what do I find? [Apple.com](http://Apple.com) sells it online for US $399 (C$388). Apple.ca sells it for C$449 (US $466). Yes, despite the fact that the Canadian dollar is worth more than the US dollar right now, the Canadian Apple Store sells it for C$62 more. :mad: I didn’t want to have to hit up eBay or some US eStore that delivers to Canada (and doesn’t have a Canadian branch to sell/overcharge from) to buy it, but if need be I might have to. _sigh_ Blah. Phone is ringing like mad. Won’t me a mo. … There. I’m back. Why anyone would spend more in parts to fix a unit than the whole unit is worth is beyond me. And I just got a moron end user on the phone. I directed him to a local dealer where he might get the part he’s looking for. Dumbassery ensues: Him: “I want to pick it up from you.” Me: “I’m sorry, we can’t do that. We don’t sell to the public.” H: “Well why not?” M: “Because we are a distributor. We only sell to dealers.” H: “Well that’s a hell of a way to run a business.” M: “That’s the way all distributors work.” H: “No it’s not.” M: \ “Actually, yes it is. Distributors sell to dealers, and dealers sell to customers like you.” H: “You can just sell directly to me.” M: “Um, no, we can’t. We would be selling out from under our dealers. If our dealers knew that they wouldn’t buy from us.” H: “You don’t have to advertise it to them.” M: “It’s company policy. We work on an account holder basis only. You must have a dealer account with us to buy from us.” H: “Fine. Bye.” I love being in in my position. I can’t outright tell them off or be rude, but I don’t have to agree with everything they say or to whatever they request either. They aren’t technically our customers so we don’t really give a damn if they don’t like what we have to tell them. 🙂 Plus, ultimately, they need what they need. They have to get it from a dealer, and the dealer has to get it from us. Some seriously cute critters round here. I’ve had an assortment (three) large dogs in my lap the last four days --none less than 70 pounds–and I’ve had to separate the two Evil Rotten B\*stard Kitties about three times when it seemed mayhem or homicide (kitty-cide?) was imminent. I think the whole firestorm incident down here was handled well., as well as the news coverage. I know there are people who will disagree with me, but we had such AWFUL winds that the air support could not get up there and lots of homes were lost. The evacuations went very well IMHO, but of course, it’s the long term support that will be important. It’s petty, but I just want my nose to stop BURNING! I’m ready to go soak my head in saline. ---

You should be delighted that there isn’t any snow, ya wuss. Go outside and sunbathe! It’s warm! 😃 Tidying is probably one of my least favourite household tasks. I’m very close to running away and doing some ‘necessary thrift shopping’ or something. Anything else. Dusting isn’t even a word I recognise as English. Oh, Idiot Whiny Co-Worker told me last night that work could _never_ be enjoyable. Apparently _careers_ can be fun, but careers don’t include ‘work’. Jobs are work, and work is never fulfilling or enjoyable. No offence, **Lissla** , but you not hating work shows you’re dumb. Thus speaketh the kid who doesn’t do anything useful, and hasn’t got the vaguest idea what the vaunted ‘career’ entails (i.e. **work** ) Boy, do I want to push him down the stairs. ---

VWife just called. The good news is she’s getting kicked to rehab at 2:30 this afternoon, and it’s the one 5 miles from work. The bad: she wants to strangle the Physical Terrorist who literally and cluelessly stood on VWife’s socks and/or feet, then bitched because VWife wouldn’t move her legs. If that’s true (she’s known to embellish a bit), said PT person should be first against the wall along with **LiLi** ’s cow-orker. :rolleyes: ---

Evening all. Another quick post while the parents watch the “news” - CNN (better than Fox, at least!). Well, it’s official - after having met hubby’s parents yesterday, my parents agree that MIL is a crazy woman who should not be left alone with small animals, let alone children! Aaaand, I see on the CNN tickertape thingie that the Red Sox have pulled off the ultimate comeback and beat down the Cleveland Indians (not that I know or care either way)! **LiLi** , wait until **tinyninjachef** is starting to crawl, then vacuum/dust the whole apartment once. After that, baby will keep the dusting done by crawling around and picking it all up on his/her onesie! 😃 **VBob** , fingers crossed that **VWife** focuses her rehab anger on the Physical Terrorist and not on you! Well, off the sort some din-dins out for the parents and us - no idea what to do. I may take the soft option and make sandwiches! ---
