She’s not an elected official, so political suicide isn’t so much a thing for her. Her route to riches will be selling her book and working the talk show circuit. She seems to be trying to refurbish her image as the principled staffer who couldn’t sit back and watch her boss ruin the country, which is an undeveloped niche market she could fill. I think Raskin dropping this info without details is an attempt to rattle people in the woodwork who might wonder what he knows and think it might look better to come forward and cooperate rather than go down. ---

I was watching Ancient Aliens this afternoon - History Channel conspiracy shows are a guilty pleasure of mine - and some “ancient alien researcher” (their term for crackpot) was playing some interview clip of fucking Fucker Carlson acting all outraged because he thought Trump knew more than he admitted to about alien visitations. Apparently presidential candidates always promise to release all the evidence of alien visitations and never do, so that’s proof of a big giant conspiracy that all the Republican presidents are in on. The show theorized that _they_ don’t tell Democratic presidents about the alien stuff. They really said this. Fucker really will say anything for money, I guess. ---

I’ve always found Ancient Aliens to be extremely insulting. The entire thing is based solely on the premise that human beings could not possibly come up with technological and artistic innovations on their own, and everything came from aliens. (Probably because these knuckleheads have no actual skills, surely ancient humans couldn’t have figured things out either.) But then, who taught those aliens? I’m sure it would be other aliens.
