Idunno. IANAL, but a quick glance at both the underlying law: [**Presidential Records (44 U.S.C. Chapter 22)**](https://www.archives.gov/about/laws/presidential-records.html) And its revision in 2014: > **[Presidential Records Act (PRA) of 1978](https://www.archives.gov/presidential-libraries/laws/1978-act.html)** > > The Presidential Records Act (PRA) of 1978, 44 U.S.C. ß2201-2209, governs the official records of Presidents and Vice Presidents that were created or received after January 20, 1981 (i.e., beginning with the Reagan Administration). The PRA changed... Makes me wonder. Specifically, points like: > Allows the incumbent President to dispose of records that no longer have administrative, historical, informational, or evidentiary value, once the views of the Archivist of the United States on the proposed disposal have been obtained in writing. and > Establishes that Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the Archivist as soon as the President leaves office. I’m willing to wager that the Archivist never signed off on what’s in boxes at Mar-A-Lago. I’m also willing to wager that the boxes _being_ at Mar-A-Lago isn’t legally equivalent to being in ‘the legal custody of the Archivist.’ Whether or not he broke the law, whether the DOJ will try to indict and prosecute, and whether or not there could be a conviction … pffft. Who knows. But I wouldn’t let this one go (in our hive mind) just yet 🙂 ---

Okay, classified documents. I’m sure marked as such. And no paperwork detailing that those classified documents are not classified, such as TFG could do while in office, supposedly.
