Sure you can get a measly 20% rate of return by just investing in no load mutual funds, but how is that going to allow you to retire on your own private island by the time you’re thirty? In order to make that kind of money you can’t follow the herd, you’ve got to take risks, and you can’t get much riskier than a made up currency based on a stupid internet joke that incurs a 63% loss the instant you buy it. ---

Wondering how this could have happened, I imagine the Trump Syndicate goes to a not very reputable design agency and says: “Make me a logo.” The agency, being shady and disreputable, but not completely stupid, thinks: “He ain’t gonna pay me anyway, may as well save the work and just copy something from overseas. He’ll never find out in time and then it will be up to him to litigate. This scam will go bankrupt anyway long before this reaches the third round of appeals, so fuck it!” And so they did. ---

Much as I hate Trump, the letter T looks like the letter T, there’s only so many colors in the world, and there’s only so much you can do to a letter to make it look interesting in an app icon. There’s a non-zero chance that they plagiarized - and certainly, it’s higher than for most companies - but there’s still a larger chance of coincidence on this one, I would say. ---

They could have picked an image to represent truth, or used the whole name “Truth Social”, or the initial “TS”. They could have picked a different font, or a different line width. They could have picked blue-on-white. They could have not broken the “T” the way they did. Why not use the serif T from the Trump logo, or the red, gold, and dark blue colors that Trump has used in other places? So, yeah, I suppose there’s a chance that it’s a coincidence. But it’s more than just the color. ---

On behalf of lazy graphic designers everywhere, I agree. (especially with a client who’d never care, and may never pay you…) Now, I would never do that…come to think of it, no ethical or even SLIGHTLY intelligent designer would. They’d know that a quick Google Image Search and it’d bite 'em on the butt. But maybe stupid clients attract stupid support staff! . . . eta: Come to think of it, maybe there WAS no designer. I had a boss who was famous for “Can’t you just rip this photo/art/logo off? Then we’d make our budget, and the deadline!” One time when none of the art department would “redo” another company’s logo, she had her admin try to do it (in Word…didn’t work). Maybe that’s what happened here. Devin said “Hey, here’s a company with a **T** logo, let’s just use theirs. Hey, _Cow_orker Bessie, cud you just change this a little and put it on our website?
