The light blue was camouflage … to keep whomever kinda safe, sorta. You know, looking up in the sky it blended in and you only knew it was AF1 when it landed and traffic was tied up for hours and hours. Oh, and all of the drab helicopters roaming around. /s ---

I’ve done ground crew at small airports, helping launch and retrieve gliders. Everybody has to watch the skies for aircraft in the pattern. Airplanes that don’t contrast with the sky really are harder to see. ---
