No, sorry, they wouldn’t. You can make fire starters out of petroleum jelly and cotton balls, but normally petroleum jelly is not flammable. ---

In the jar, no, but on a pool noodle? I may have to do some experiments. I’m actually assuming that the vaseline will dissolve some of the pool noodle. I haven’t seen the entirety of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner yet but the whole thing is available on YouTube courtesy of CSPAN, link below. I did see Biden’s speech, and it was a mix of clever humour along with some serious comments about the vital role of the press in this age of lies and disinformation. And I loved the comment “We had a horrible plague followed by two years of COVID”. 😄 The contrast with the sociopathic Orange Peril refusing to even attend was stunning. Fortunately for the orange sociopath, the Dunning-Kruger effect is strong. It will all wash over him unnoticed, like water off the back of a well-oiled orange marmoset.
