Navarro sticks in my mind as the incredible asshole **[who disparaged Canada’s contribution to the war in Afghanistan](https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/hillier-navarro-canada-afghanistan-idiot-1.5701264)** – an effort to which Canada committed 40,000 troops, a far larger number in proportion to population than the US ever had there, and suffered 158 fatalities. His remark shocked many commentators and prompted Canada’s top general to publicly call him an idiot. He also tried to disparage Canada in general, once saying "I mean, what’s good about Canada? They’re much more kind of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren”, not realizing this was actually a compliment, especially compared to the orange shit-gibbon he worked for. ---
