I don’t know about Bummer, but I am sure Lazarus is not buried. Jesus brought him back to life and Jesus did not do half backed miracles. Come back to life, stay alive. I guess that is the real origin of the [Wandering Jew](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wandering_Jew) myth. ---

" In the original legend, a Jew who taunted Jesus on the way to the Crucifixion was then _cursed,_ to walk the Earth until the Second Coming." As a kid, I read a Sci-Fi short story where the author meets a old guy who claims to be the wandering jew. The guy is tired of living, and can’t wait til the Messiah comes back and he can die. Can’t find the title, but I know it was in an anthology of SF with religious themes called _Flame Tree Planet._ ---

There is also a play called “Underneath the Lintel”, where the Wandering Jew has been leaving tiny clues to his existence and a (Dutch? Belgian?) librarian is following those clues back in time to prove the existence of the Wandering Jew. It was a fascinating (1-man) play. The one I saw was David Strathairn. He’s a gem. ---

I couldn’t decide where this fit, but during yesterday’s pregame talking head yapping (I don’t remember if it was Fox, ESPN or NFL Network), Mike Lindell ran the same commercial twice (different ad breaks) hawking his “My Slipper”. If you ordered it with whatever the special promo code was, you could get a pair for $90 off. Who the hell pays $90 for slippers in the first place, much less $90+$X (did I use “much less” correctly)? I’m not going to the website to see what the MSRP is, but he was also hawking (possibly buy-one-get-one) slides and something else for $19.99. ---

MyPillow slippers are regularly $140, on sale for $50. They are typical “moccason” style slippers, most with fuzzy lining. Now I buy real (unlined, sewn with leather thongs) moccasins from someplace in Canada, and they cost more than that, and they last forever. ---
