Let’s face it: Hughes could admit he made a mistake. If Orange Julius Caesar had made _The Conqueror_, he would loudly proclaim it The Greatest Movie Ever Made and that John Wayne, et.al., told him, with tears in their eyes, that they considered it worth contracting cancer to get the film made. ---

You can add Scott Adams to that list. The creator of the comic strip Dilbert. There was something about 9/11 that weirdly made certain comedians and humorists turn arch conservative it seems like. I wish I could explain it. ---
