This reminds me of times when a person goes to court “to have justice done” or whatever, then realizes during the discovery phase of the trial that they are legally forced to hand over a bunch of information they’d rather not have anyone see. Like jumping on stage to rant against someone, and the whole audience sees your fly is open. ---

Something similar happened to Gen. Douglas MacArthur: _In 1934, MacArthur sued journalists Drew Pearson and Robert S. Allen for defamation after they described his treatment of the Bonus marchers as “unwarranted, unnecessary, insubordinate, harsh and brutal”. Also accused for proposing 19-gun salutes for friends, MacArthur asked for $750,000 to compensate for the damage to his reputation. In turn, the journalists threatened to call Isabel Rosario Cooper as a witness. MacArthur had met Isabel, a Eurasian teenager, while in the Philippines, and she had become his mistress. MacArthur was forced to settle out of court, secretly paying Pearson $15,000._ Heheheh. Pence being subpoenaed is schadenfreude enough, but I’d expected it to elicit a poorly-thought-out response from Trump by now. Will it be “Look, I can’t be responsible for everything that a page like Pence happened to see while he was wandering around the White House.”… Or just “Pussy Pence is jealous because my name was bigger on those lawn signs, my very beautiful, tasteful… no President’s ever had signs that classy, they’re the only ones that are nice enough to be stuck in the greens at my golf club in Scotland.” ---
