“Häme” is even meaner than “Schadenfreude”, but I can’t come up with a fitting English translation either. One of those German words that you can’t translate? (or even worse, one of those German emotions you can’t feel as someone else?) I was thinking of “glee”, but I don’t know if that word covers it. ---

Well, I refer to a standard dictionary and it defines glee as a benevolent feeling. Your quote hints at something lacking in that definition. A very pertinent quote, I must add. Very apt for the subject of this thread.
