From my limited knowledge, when a board first is created by running a log through a sawmill, the dimensions of a 2X4 are indeed 2 inches by 4 inches. The lumber is then dried, which makes it shrink, and is planed smoother, which takes off even more wood. The result is that the original 2X4 is now about 1.5 by 3.5. For some reason, the original sawn measurements are used to define what it is, even though it is now smaller. I believe if you go back far enough, lumber was usually not planed, and was “rough cut”, so a 2X4 really was 2 inches by 4 inches. Folks don’t usually use this rough cut lumber anymore, and the majority of wood sold is planed and smaller. But the name still stuck. ---

If you wanted to refer to it by whole numbers and not by clunky fractions, the proper way to round would be 2X4. ---

Who is paying the massive bills DJT is racking up? Is the GQP fund-raising pool on the hook again? I know the rubes are being suckered at a dizzying pace with him hoovering up the majority of the “donations” for legal experiences but it’s not like for him to want to pay anything out - “Mine, Mine, Mine” has been the petulant ones tantrum cry. I expect the, “in two weeks” payment scam to begin to bite him in the ass soon as well (lot of fatty meat there; 215 lbs. at least). ---

He’s actually looking almost svelte lately (at least compared to the erstwhile Donald). I attribute this to depression, anxiety, or a fatal disease, or some combination thereof, all of which bring a soothing degree of warm Schadenfreude to my soul. ---
