The area around the grounds of the Capital, must have a sprinkler system… It may be on like large parks that have to have the impact sprinklers be placed/plugged in for each zone though. But, an additional system might work. One that could have a deterrent chemical added to it. I wonder if any such system has ever been done. ---

Well, when Trump wanted to do his little side-show with a bible during the BLM protests in the summer of 2020, they didn’t seem to lack the resources to clear that park quite quickly. The problem wasn’t a lack of tools, it’s that someone decided not to use the tools they have. ---

How in the hell did I miss that thread when it started? What I do remember about day is my mother calling telling me to turn on the TV. She was horrified at what was happening, and she was a Republican. Or at least registered as one. ---

I’m surprised more didn’t use lethal force. But what are you going to do against a crowd that large? Pretty much screwed what every you do IMHO. I think they where hoping for reinforcements from the National Guard. ---

they knew that people in the crowd were armed. they were seen earlier with weapons and did not want to go through the mags at the rally. there would have been quite the bloody shootout had the police opened fire duting the rally. the one person shot was in a small area and there were members of congress being evacuated. ---

Yes, I recall reading him saying something along the lines of “They are not here to shoot at _me_!” because it is OK to shoot, as long as it is at somebody else. And on 5th Avenue he would do it himself and he would get away with it. ---

When Trump says he requested the National Guard and he was turned down, he’s not exactly lying. At one point, he requested thousands of National Guard troops _to march with him to the Capitol as he claimed victory_, a request that was, of course denied. ---
