He might still be able to shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue with a slingshot… Though I just looked it up out of curiosity and apparently the kind of slingshot that has a brace reinforced against your wrist is illegal in New York, but the old-school kind (like Dennis the Menace or Bart Simpson carried with them) would be fine. And apparently in New York a bow is considered a firearm, so I don’t think he can legally use one of those either. ---
