He should have known, because it is a right-wing hobby horse (I think they are nominally or maybe even actually Christian?), but I’m certain that there are lots of other groups being similarly oppressed that just haven’t gotten the press. ---

Anyone should be able to get a supersedeas bond as long as they are perceived as a trustworthy individual who is accountable for their debts. (It also helps if said individual’s personal and business activities are not BOTH under criminal investigation.) As George Conway so eloquently put it in a Twitter post, “He. Couldn’t. Get. A. Bond.” Hence the plea for the court to accept a cash deposit. It’s sort of like being denied a credit card because your credit history shows you’re a deadbeat, and begging the card issuer to give you one if you post a cash deposit with them. And of course the orange shit-stain is also having difficulty recruiting good lawyers. Joe Tacopina looks and sounds just like a mob lawyer, the sort who would have represented Al Capone – though Al probably had way better lawyers because he actually paid them. ---

Of course, those very same ballots are perfectly valid as they helped elect the ‘Pub governor, senator, rep, or other state official who _did_ get elected – it was only Donnie Two-scoops’ election that was tampered with. Reporting is he’s at the proffer stage, very likely a deal is at hand. Hmm, I wonder who’s higher up the food chain where it would make sense to offer a deal? Also, this is one instance where the defendant’s legal background is a plus. Unlike Trump, I’m sure it was easily explained to Rudy that he is in a world of shit and there’s no escape.
