The article doesn’t indicate any kind of move away from right-wing extremism – just a move away from Trump. I wonder how many of those backers will open their pockets again if the party nominates someone else. ---

You may be right, or perhaps it’s both. But I read the gist of the donor class’s concerns to be the embrace of election denial. My impression was that right-wing extremism is a-okay. Just line up candidates that can actually win. ETA: What @Akaj said. ---
