A disturbing number of Americans seem to think that anything a business does to generate profit (short-staffing, underpaying, wage theft, tip theft, price collusion, etc.) is perfectly acceptable. “But my profits!” isn’t a sarcastic line to them. ---

If he dies or otherwise leaves office, I suggest that he isn’t replaced until the 2026 election. After all, the voters should have a say in the matter. ---

I think it’s better, in light of the obstructionist issues on a similarly health challenged Democrat, that if this is indicative of a lingering major health setback that prevents him from participating, that the Senate refuses to release him from any of his duties or allow any sort of substitute or proxy. And that he enjoys a long remaining life in a mostly non-functional state until the voters choose to force him out. ---
