Sometimes, they’re pushed over the top by the general public - and that seems to be even worse. ---

Well, it’s stereotypically a marker of an American “backwoods” rural accent, as in “I was jest sayin’ to Aunt Keziah that I’m fixin’ to mosey down the road a piece and pay a call on Betty Sue.” We South Jersey “pineys” are a bit backwoods, but not that backwoods. ---
