While i have no issue with the schadenfreude aspect of Trump voters receiving retribution for voting for him, it _does_ hurt the state economy, and not everyone who works there was a Trump supporter. ---

I can take some small solace watching the current administration fall flat on their faces, but I can’t forget we’re all being hurt in the process. ---

Well, that, and the implicit recognition we all - innocent bystanders and even MAGA themselves - are better off if and when the clown show eventually ends. I do wish there was a way to accomplish that without decent people affected, but that train left the station long, long ago. ---

Someone who’s more knowledgeable about the liquor business can confirm or deny this. ---

Indeed. But I’m not disappointed in Japan. I’m disappointed in my own countrymen. Plus, I had kind of grown tired of bourbon. I lingered in front of the Four Roses section for a moment, but decided to go Japanese. I thought about Mars Iwai, but decided to go with the less flavorful Japanese whiskey. Beam was never a consideration. And yes, the bottle I have lists it is a blend of the product of Hakushu, Chita and Yamazaki distilleries. None from Kentucky. ---

One of their other distilleries in the same town makes craft brands like Knob Creek, Basil Hayden, and a few others from before the buyout, but none from the other Suntory subsidiaries, as far as I know. The big distillery won’t make anything but it did provide supporting operations like bottling and so on for that one, so it won’t be 100% closed for the year.
