Republican House Speakers had quite a run keeping us moral. There was Gingrich, who dumped his first wife on her deathbed, and his second wife to marry a choirgirl. And then John Livingston, who lasted less than one 20th of a Scaramucci. And then there was Hastert, who was followed by John Boener, the Speaker who was a crier. ---

Trump is starting to remind me of old rock bands from the 60s and 70s. Their heyday has long since passed, but they continue to play at ever smaller venues. Of course they were done by 9:15, probably so they could get to bed on time. ---

I doubt it. But words are cheap, unlike gas, beef, milk, and a bunch of other things. They’re ok ignoring reality when it happens to other people. They’re not so sanguine when it hits their own pocketbooks. Somehow, “it’s patriotic to pay more for things” isn’t playing so well. Who’d have thunk it? ---

Oh that’s creepy-amazing.
