A fantasy a bit more plausible is Trump incompetently travelling to some country that respects the ICC, being detained there and the Democratic president doing absolutely nothing about it, not even a pro-forma protest. If anybody complains a simple “What would Trump do if the situation was reversed?” should suffice. ETA: on the other hand the SC _did_ say that nothing a president does in the exercise of his presidential role is illegal, so I would guess kidnapping Trump and sending him to Le Hague would be perfectly legal. ---

Doing a quick search, I believe the only charges that have ever been filed against Trump have been state and federal domestic charges. Nothing international yet.
