The thing with plastic surgery is that you can’t always predict how you will heal. When you heal well, you can look fantastic, like you haven’t had anything done (see Jane Fonda, possibly Martha Stewart, Christy Brinkley) but no matter how much money you spend if you heal badly you look terrible (Meg Ryan, Melanie Griffith). ---

I’d bet that due to the way society is, and the way women are disproportionately targeted for their looks that it’s more prevalent among women, but it obviously is not exclusive to women.
