I have seen it alleged that trading volumes on the NASDAQ started to soar 90 minutes **before** Trump’s announcement on the tariff pause. I have not had a moment to look at the actual numbers though. ---

The Villages also had some voting irregularities with extra votes for Trump. I’m sure the individuals are being pursued by Patel and Bondi and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. ---

\ One thing that’s happened in the fallout of these tariffs, is a lot of the news I watch / read has been back to legitimizing the MAGA vote. People voted for Trump because they were “disenfranchised” by “globalism” and by a Democratic party that has become “increasingly for the elites” and overlooked _the hardship of ordinary Americans_. Yeah, bullshit. At least half Trump voters went that way because he was hating on groups they hate; brown people, trans\*, anyone who isn’t protestant Christian. And the remaining people believed in a upside-down world, where the US was in a recession under Biden, Ukraine money was going to yachts for Zelensky, and the many examples of Trump’s corruption and criminality were all “fake news”. And so they voted against their own best interest. There is no sober reflection on the state of global demographic shifts and macroeconomics from the voting decision of those fuckdumb cnts. \* I could add too that I’m still seeing too many people repeat the lie that it’s _the Democrats_ who talked too much about trans. But that will get me on a whole other rant. ---

Absofuckinglutely. The news outlets trying to sell their basic ‘_Democrats_ are responsible for people voting Trump’ theory are, obviously, hoping to please the Dear Leader. Could Democrats adjust their message? Yes, of course. Did Democrats drive voters—voters who were, according to the news outlets, Well-Informed, Thoughtful, Fair-Minded Observers—away with the message they had? Oh, please. What makes this attempted sales job so ludicrous is that it requires us to believe that most Trump voters (and stay-at-home types) are indeed Well-Informed, Thoughtful, Fair-Minded Observers.
