Many Evangelical and Fundamentalist denominations are fairly decentralized and lack the sort of church hierarchy that Roman Catholicism, and most “mainline” Protestant denominations, have. Peter was a disciple of Jesus, and became the first Pope – thus founding the Catholic church. Since Peter was a disciple of Christ, was the first Pope, and founded the Catholic church, the Catholic church can’t _possibly_ be Christian! ---
