His career will come to an abrupt end when this gets out. This goes far beyond the mere molesting young giirls. A reliable source who requested to remain anonymous claims that he was undeniably heard to say “_I hate cats._” Even die-hard MAGAts will flee from him. He will deny this repeatedly, but that will only give it legs. The collapse is inevitable and unstoppable.

Last year, Washington State (my state!) was the only one in the country to lean more Democratic.

[Why Washington appears to be the only state to shift blue in 2024](https://www.axios.com/local/seattle/2024/11/12/washington-state-election-blue-shift)

Tellingly:

> While [national experts](https://x.com/Redistrict/status/1854720489551167894) have often looked to Washington’s top-two primary [as a predictor](https://www.npr.org/2024/08/16/g-s1-17255/washington-primary-2024-election-democrats-gop-twitter) of how the nation will vote in November, the state’s outlier status this year may change that going forward.

And guess what. The primary results are coming in for 2025, and it’s skewing more progressive here, almost universally. The mayor of Seattle is being beaten by someone to the left of him, Democrats seem to be breezing to victory almost everywhere, and overall everything is going to the left at every level of government. It feels like people here are fed up with Trump and are really energized to show up and fight at the polls.

Washington might be an outlier, as it was last year, but who knows.

As you most assuredly know, Washington is just about _the_ most trade-dependent state in the country, at least on the surface. Child-Molester-ONE has been trying to punish his opponents with tariffs: bluer states, especially the three coastal states of Baja Canada, tend to be a bit more dependent on international trade, so tariffs are an excellent tool to bring them to their knees.
Eastern Washington has been redder than western Washington – if the President has shifted the east side blueward, that makes him the great uniter. He seems to be bringing the country together. This in an election cycle that normally favors the more conservative candidates.

I know that it is of no consequence, but I am still sure that the power to impose tariffs by the president is being grossly abused by trump. He. Does. Not. Have. That. Power.

It does not matter in the current political constellation, I know. But it is still a fact. He is acting illegally. He should be impeached because of this. Some day in the future historians will say this is the point when the Rule of Law definitely broke down in the USA.

As long as Congress is okay with it, the POTUS can set tariffs. It has been that way for well over a century, so there is a ton of precedence.

Ever since 1892 _Field v Clark_, SCOTUS has determined it’s okay for Congress to delegate that power to the POTUS.

POTUS can use that power _in an emergency situation_. There is no emergency to be seen. No fentanyl being imported from Canada. No economic crisis, despite his best efforts. No invasion. No great replacement. Nothing.

That was a single event. What we have now is a continuous ongoing attack. You are right, 1/6 was a scandal. But I see the situation now as institutionally worse.
Of course, if you insist that the breakdown of the Rule of Law started before I wrote, that does not change the fact that now the situation is IMO even worse. So OK, fine. 1/6 was awful. Should never have happened. But I believe the situation now is really worse.

Oh, yes, you do. A dysfunctional, corrupt democracy. What you don’t have is Rule of Law (_Rechtstaatlichkeit_ in German, to clarify what I mean if you are familiar with the concept).

The problem is that this was never defined, so _legally_, no laws have been broken. SCOTUS has yet to act on it. Even this blog post, which declares them illegal, undercuts itself somewhat.

[https://www.govtrack.us/posts/519/2025-07-07\_trumps-tariffs-are-unlawful-how-the-nondelegation-doctrine-limits-congress](https://www.govtrack.us/posts/519/2025-07-07_trumps-tariffs-are-unlawful-how-the-nondelegation-doctrine-limits-congress)

> The Supreme Court could find, though unlikely, that if Congress wants the President to exercise some emergency authority, it must at least define what an emergency is, set limits on the authority, and provide checks on when and how long the President can use it.

I guess part of the problem is that what Trump is doing is unprecedented (I know I get tired of hearing and saying that about everything, but it’s true). And so, there isn’t any previous court ruling to point to in order to say that what he’s doing isn’t legal. That’s one reason why he’s getting away with it. And I have doubts that SCOTUS is willing to side with sanity given its utter contempt for the law and embrace of corruption.

As the exception that proves the rule, there are those in Congress trying to pass a law that says Trump can’t pull that shit anymore.

> **[Analysis: Congress gave presidents power over tariffs. They could aways take...](https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/08/politics/tariffs-trump-power-constitution-congress)**
>
> President Donald Trump is imposing tariffs on the world at will, spooking markets and straining alliances. When China announced retaliatory tariffs on US products, Trump made the unilateral decision to double down. The White House now says tariffs...

Of course that failed, which is why we’re where we are now. As that article points out, Congress has slowly been ceding tariff power to the Executive bit by bit over the years, and now the assclown is taking advantage of it.

This bit almost makes me think you haven’t been paying attention since 1/20/2025.

According to laws or the Constitution you are factually correct. BUT, none of that matters anymore in practice. Until Congress or SCOTUS act he absolutely Does. Have. That. Power.

He has taken it for himself and no one who can stop him is doing so.

I wonder why you all act so surprised reading what I wrote. Negating the evidence does not make it go away. When the laws of the country are not applied for political reasons the Rule of Law breaks down. Whether you have democracy or not does not count anymore then.

In other words: your country is fucked. Sorry for you and the rest of the world.
