Fuck the ones who voted for him and his party. I was at the store last week and when I saw the price of beef, I blurted out “fuck those ranchers, I’m not paying 38.67 for 3, 8oz ribeye steaks.” Saying that out loud in an HEB got me a couple of dirty looks from the locals. Saying anything negative about beef or ranchers is pretty much a thought crime here in Texas… but fuck those kulaks that voted for him and the republicans who are helping him destroy the country. ---

they are the dominant player in the grocery market here in Texas… and have been extremely successful for the last couple decades. They managed to push Albertsons/ Safeway (Randell’s) out of most markets…. I’ll take up rising prices with distant cousin Charles next time I’m in Kerrville visiting kin folk. ---

They have over 300 stores in Texas and another 100+ in Mexico. But no stores in any other state. The company is the 6th-largest private company in the country. ---

As grocery stores go, HEB is pretty progressive, but for Texas they really stand out. They pay well, still publicly embrace DEI, and support green projects. They do other forms of community support as well, including disaster relief. ---
