Just thought I’d get this off my chest (I have a bad cold and am more irritable than usual; so sue me :D); so here I am, reading an interesting thread, and all of a sudden, a couple of contributors (or worse, three or more) discover that “Holy Leapin’ Lizards, we’re from THE SAME PART OF THE WORLD!!!”, and then proceed to hijack the thread for half a page or so with their extremely interesting posts about who lives where, where they all went to school, the cool restaurants/bars they know around there, and should they get together sometime soon? Um, excuse me, guys, I’m very happy that you’ve finally found each other, but it would be virtually impossible to make the thread less interesting to the general public than you do with these sidetracks. Just sayin’, ya know? ---

Holy Leapin’ Lizards, featherlou! We were once in the same time zone at the same time! Isn’t that amazing? What do you prefer? Daylight or Standard time? I like the McDonald’s in the Central Time Zone better than Burger King! How about you? My cat’s breath smells like cat food. ---

Kevja, that reminds me. While on holiday in South Africa, I met this American guy. Seemed bright enough, mid twenties. So we chatted for a bit, and he asks where I’m from. So I tell him I’m from the Netherlands. “You’re from the Netherlands? But that’s in Europe! Cool! My cousin lives in Milan, do you know him?” I had to explain him that the distance Amsterdam - Milan is roughly the same as the distance Miami - Boston. ---
