I’m genuinely toying with the idea of applying for a suspension. My major concern, though, is the waiting list. What if the powers that be are processing loads of the things, and, even worse, drafting and polishing their own suspension requests prior to circulating them to their fellow powers that be for checking and revision? Could be fucking months until my suspension is approved, and by then I may be wanting something a little more potent, like a ban, or more special, like just being a normal poster. It’s not that I wish to draw attention to myself; rather, it’s that I want attention to be drawn to the fact that I’m not trying to draw attention to myself. After all, the SDMB is bigger than any poster. ---

Look, mate, I only started this thing because I was waiting for someone to start a “ **Roger** , I sense you may be thinking of banning yourself but I love you, and love your work” thread, and no fucker did. I have no prurient interest in reading about another poster’s internal struggles with his genius and all that shit, coz I’m far too busy showing the mother and father of all prurient interests in my own frigging genius. ---

That’s the spirit. But you email a mod these days and likely as not you’ll get an AUTOMESSAGE: “I am currently editing a request for suspension forwarded to me by my mate \_\_\_\_\_\_. After that I will resume work on the draft report on why I must be suspended while being allowed to keep my mod mug. Consideration of all requests for suspension has therefore been suspended until further notice.” ---

I’ve been pitted twice and suspended once, and I still feel like a shadow around here. Of course, I’m constantly being called an asshole, and that’s encouraging, but I still feel like there should be something more, you know? ---

Feh. I’ve never been pitted. Or suspended. Never gotten a warning. The Mods have never said “Boo” to me in an official capacity. I suck. Suck suck suckity suck. Nobody loves me everybody hates me I’m gonna eat some worms. I couldn’t even get anyone to bake me a cake for my pity party. How sad is _that_? ---

Closest I ever came was getting a thread closed because it was a post-counting party. That left a little welt, but nothing serious. I’m kind of afraid to be pitted or suspended. I imagine it hurts. Like when you reach under the desk to get the pen you dropped, and you sit up fast, forgetting there’s a desk there, and the back of your head hits so hard you feel it in your teeth. That kind of hurt, and I don’t like that, so please don’t Pit or suspend me until I can at least get some ibuprofen in me, ok? ---

I know you’re upset about not being a Charter Member, but take a step back and think about this for a minute. **Roger,** the anticipation of your posts (especially the ones that mention me) is the only thing that brings me back here day after day. If you leave, or get banned/suspended/drama queened/whatever, not only will I leave, but I’ll seek out those who haven’t left yet and tell them (sternly) to leave too. In fact, I’ll twist their arms until they beg me to let them leave! And if they can’t be bothered to iron a shirt, I’ll really be upset. This is the part where we’re supposed to offer hugs, right?
