Context: I put this thread here so that **grienpace** and **Fenris** could kick each other in the shins if they so desire without further distracting from what I feel is a very important topic. In advance, let me state to both parties that this is not intended to be personal, but rather I am finding their somewhat off-topic back and fort to be distracting from the issue. ---

**Binarydrome** , I’m certain you meant well, but **Lynn** has posted in the past that people should not start “Let’s you and him fight” threads. This has happened three times lately, and I think she’s getting a little peeved at it…so perhaps you may want to re-think the wisdom of this. ---

My intent was in no way to (as you say) create a “lets see you guys fight” sort of thread. Rather, I wanted to remove a source of distraction from what to me is a thread of vital importance, as it concerns the very tone of the SDMB will take in the future. In reflection, I suppose that this may have been somewhat presumptuous of me. Should any passing mod rule that I am out of line here, by all means, close the tread. ---

I figured that was what you meant, and that it was innocent. The _only_ reason I posted was that several times now my good friend **Fenris** has been one of the “named” people in the other “let’s you and him fight/discuss/Australian Dick Wrestle” threads, and I know he is very reluctant to post to them, given past disapproval. Knowing this, I really posted to say that if he didn’t post, it was not that he was ignoring you or not taking your points and intent seriously. Well, OK, he may be, but I doubt it. 🙂 ---

Consider this my pit thread then, being forced into this by the wilfully destructful **Fenris** who has no regard for the clarity of **Scylla’s** thread. **grienspace** , I only posted for the reasons I already mentioned - that it was not good to have other people called out by other people. I don’t recall admonishing you specifically, or generally, or anyone for that matter. I have no role in this quarrel. It would be a very big mistake to try and bring me into this. ---
