For the folks who picked “pink” as their most dislike color. Which of the six main colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) would you have picked if pink hadn’t been available? Guys who picked pink: Do you dislike it generally (even when worn by a female) or do you only dislike it in the sense that you would never wear it? For people who dislike brown: Is beige ok or still too brown? For people who like blue and/or dislike orange: Blue and orange are complimentary colors. When next to each other, do they get better, worse or does it change little? ---

Am I the only one hard-pressed to choose either? I know what looks good on me, I know what would look better or worse in a room with other colors, but I have never had a favorite. ---

Male, most liked: blue, with green a very close second. Most disliked: pink. It reminds me of Pepto Bismo, which actually made me _more_ sick once as a kid, with a 24-hour stomach bug. ---

Yeah, those are complimentary colors, although color theory is more complicated than just that. I had a toss up between blue & green. For most of life it’s been blue but lately I’ve been digging seafoam green. Personally, I would say it would depend on the hue of blue and orange. A red-orange with a blue-green might look more jarring than a yellow orange would. Shade & saturation would make a difference too. ---

I’ve never met anybody who feels the way I do about pink - namely that it looks better on men and little girls than anybody else. Women can certainly wear pink but it never catches my eye as looking exceptionally good the way other colors do on women, like white. On the contrary, a pink tie or dress shirt, especially under a blue or gray jacket or sweater so you don’t see too much pink looks striking on a man. I found it hard because I only like or dislike colors with respect to certain things. I love white on women and I think it looks great on men if they know how to wear it and not get messy. At home I don’t have any white because it’s too sterile. I like warm earth tones with rich accent colors for home decor, but it’s not really my style for dressing. ---

Tough call. In general I really like autumn colors and really dislike pastels, but there are plenty of exceptions. I took a look at my wardrobe and it runs heavily to reds, oranges, rusts & browns, so I’ll have to go with orange. Dislike - since I didn’t see beige on the list I’ll have to say gray. ---

With threads like this there’s always some awkward guy who claims “none of the above”. But genuinely, when it comes to colours, I like them all and dislike them all, depending on the situation. When people ask me what my favourite colour is, they may as well ask me, say, whether I prefer sweet or savory food: I like both and what I prefer changes from moment to moment. (However as a child I remember liking (pure) white. Which I’m glad to see as an option, as it’s often excluded due to misplaced pedantry… But anyway I don’t have this preference now) ---

Female, most liked purple, most disliked Brown. But my opinions change a bit based upon whether you’re talking home decor, or fashion. For home decor? I absolutely LOATHE browns (and all of the other “body fluid” colors like bile green and baby poop yellow, that the decorators have been trying to force down our throats since the 90s). But for fashion? I like brown. It’s not my favorite, but it can look pretty when done right. ---

I can’t really answer this poll because my colors are not represented. I most dislike pastel versions of colors. So I like green, but hate almost all versions of pastel green. I like orange, but hate any of the pastel versions (like “cantaloupe” or “peach”). ---

I literally can’t say I have a disliked color, because what are we talking about? A color I like to wear as clothing? A color I like to paint a room? A color that looks really nice when I’m walking around downtown? How about when I walk in a forest? Or a color that goes best or worst on a car? And what _specific_ car? I really feel that every color will look fantastic on _something_. ---

I don’t understand how it’s possible to _dislike_ a color. Which do you hate more, lithium or argon? What’s your least favorite state of matter–solid, liquid, gas, or plasma? Which do you dislike more, 100 MHz or 1500 kHz? Colors only matter in context. ---

A little surprised by the dislike for orange here. It’s such a warm, lively color. I can’t think of a color I dislike, so I just went with the one I don’t want to look at in my apartment, and don’t like wearing. ---

Guy here. I love greys, though only cool greys. I picked yellow as my least favourite, but I actually quite like vivid yellows. It’s the washed out, nursery-walls pastel yellows that I don’t like. Vivid pinks and purples make my eyes hurt a little, but they’ve got their place–pastel yellow is never the best choice for _anything_. ---

Female - I really didn’t know what to put for my Disliked color(s). I don’t really dislike any; there are some, mostly in the yellow and orange families, that I don’t wear because they make me look like a corpse, but I don’t dislike them.
