It turns out, my husband and I have the same favorite character from the Wizard of Oz. Considering our tastes are polar opposites on virtually everything else, I’m rather surprised by this because I don’t think our choice would be the most common. Our choice? The Tin Man. Dopers, among the major characters, who is your favorite? ---

My favorite is the Wizard himself (after Toto pulls back the curtain) and his pre-twister incarnation as the fortune teller. ---

Glinda, I guess. None of the characters were really likeable. I can’t believe that Dorothy wanted to go back and live in poverty on her family’s pig farm instead of staying in the fantastical world of Oz, either. WTF? ---

You mean the movie? I’d give the edge to the Cowardly Lion, primarily for “If I Were King of the Forest,” with second place to the Scarecrow, who was always the smartest one in any situation. ---

“Official” Oz has kind of been skewed in my mind by _Wicked_ (the book more than the musical), so my sympathies tend to veer in the Witch’s direction… ---
