Please answer the questions without looking past. 1. Your age. 2. Within a reference to cars/trucks would you know what I mean when I say wedge window or corner window. A wedge window is the little triangular window at the front of the front windows. It was made when common cars and works trucks didn’t have air conditioning and was a triangular wedge you could force a large amount of air into your face at highway speeds and was adjustable by the angle you pushed it out to. It also probably made the other windows cheaper by squaring them off so the manufacture and roll down would be simpler. 1. After reading my spoiler would you have known exactly what I’m talking about, but had a different name for it? This was inspired by today when a coworker asked me to pick his kids up at a friends house (12-19 I’d guess) and take them to his house, cause he had to go across town to pick up his wife. I was driving my old truck with wedge windows and the kids we totally amazed, and hadn’t seen anything like that before. It simply seems like a natural part of Americana to me, Most people couldn’t afford that that fancy air conditioning. So how old am I supposed to feel now? ---

Wolfman, I’d say you’re pretty young – I knew what you meant _sans_ spoiler, and (gosh-darn-it,) I feel pretty young myself! In real life, though, I’m 35 (adding a digit next month,) but we always called them “vent windows.” I probably own the last US model car that has this feature – '86 Ford Crown Vic. It’s an easy car to feel young in, too, 'cause it’s got a 423 Police Interceptor engine, and a really loud stereo system, so I have fun overshadowing the age-deprived at stop lights. And you’re supposed to feel 19 now. (I base that on the fact that I don’t feel a day over 18, so you can’t possibly be much older. If I were betting, I’d put money on you knowing most of the words to REM’s “The End of the World as We Know It.” Thus, you can’t be elderly.) ---

1. 20 2. Yes 3. That weird little window. Maybe “that thing” and point. Um, I guess you’re supposed to feel twenty. Okay, our old beater truck had one before it died. The new beater truck didn’t have one. It has since died, and now we have a four-wheeler, which has no windows at all. ---

I’m 41. Yes, I knew what they were. We had a Dodge Dart wagon and we called them “triangle” windows. ---

[This](http://www.eyeson.org/blind/eo_dio/news/new_eod/new_eod_04c.htm) car design term glossary has windwing, quarter window and ventipane as words for these. Besides the coming of air conditioning, another reason they went out of style is that they were an easy entry point for burglars. ---

In the novel **The Day of the Jackal** , the titular Jackal was supposed to have assassinated the dictator Trujillo by firing through that triangular window, because it was the only one on the car not made of bulletproof glass. Maybe that’s the cause of their downfall. Just sayin’ ---

35 and vent windows was so obvious I was racking my brain and was thinking of a split window corvette or another 50’s concept car. God I miss them, and my '85 Bronco and the pick-up’s before them. I don’t feel old. When my friend yells at me for teaching her son bad habits like how to do wheelies on his dirtbike I tell her I’m just a really tall 9 year with a job and can buy his own toys. ---

38 yep Had 'em in my '67 ‘stang. Can’t remember ever having a special word for them tho’. Wish I had them in my '88 Cherokee ‘cause the air stopped workin’ and they’d be mighty handy. The Cherokee even has the little triangle shaped pane, just no hinge. I wonder if I could retrofit it? ---
