No I didn’t say that at all. I said you advance the debate in a post where you also moderate. However, to what you NOW say, posters objected to that months ago and I have refrained from doing anything similar to that since that time. You’re just making it up as you go along. ---

IME, in almost all cases, people who are actually intent on leaving a message board will simple disappear. And also, IME, people who make grand statements about leaving rarely leave for any length of time. IMHO, YMMV, of course. I guess what I’m saying is if you’re leaving, just go. The people who interacted with you most will eventually start wondering where you went. And if you’re not really leaving, but are just chuffed at the mods, then take a break for a while and come back at some later time. ---

mswas, you know, probably by virtue of not having a clue who I am, that I’m not involved in whatever board drama is always going on. So I hope you can accept my neutrality when I say that your GD thread was clearly against the rules. I have seen many people get warned for doing what you did - post a link with a quick blurb, offer no opinion, and say “debate!” That hasn’t been OK in a long time. I offer no opinion on any other related issues. I’m just saying that you broke a well-established rule there, intentionally or not. ---
