James?
John?
Adams, Adams II, Tyler, Kennedy
James would be Madison, Monroe, Garfield

And Polk. And Buchanan. The Jimbos win, even though they haven’t added to their number since 1880!
I wonder how long it will be until we have another Rutherford.
:smack: Oh yeah, and that guy from Georgia . . . a Jimmy who was really a James. Six Jimbos!
Hmmm. I don’t see any commonalities between them other than the obvious: each has lived in the White House, each served after George Washington, etc. But you say no other Presidents belong on the list. Lessee. Could it be that each was born in a state on the outermost edge of the U.S. (adjoining an ocean, a Great Lake, Canada or Mexico)? No… Jackson and Johnson were both born in Tennessee, weren’t they?
Nope. While both achieved national office from Tennessee, both were born in Carol;ina. Andrew Johnson’s birthplace is about 18 miles from me as I post, a smidge northeast of downtown Raleigh. Jackson’s a bit strange: he was born in either Mecklenburg County, NC, or York or Lancaster County, SC (I don’t recall which) at a point sufficiently close to the state line that we’ve been arguing about it ever since.

Mecklenburg lays claim to Jame Polk. Union county claims Jackson.

Right after another Millard.
