I don’t want to be your guest. I want to be your customer. I am spending money in your establishment. I am keeping you in business. I’m your reason for being, and I expect to be treated as such. See, the thing is, when you live a stone’s throw from a Target, and it’s one of the clean, friendly, lotsa-lines-open ones, it _does_ get to feel like “your” store. I know that sounds hokey–fuck, it _IS_ hokey. But there you have it. I know where stuff is, I know a lot of the staff by sight, and I love how the young staff always banter on their little walkie-talkies to each other. You know those stupid Wal-Mart commercials where families talk about how they love their hometown Wal-mart and it’s so great because of blah, blah, blah? I could star in one of those for Traget and be 100% serious. ---
