I would think so but I don’t know. The thing was we overpaid a lot of people, and frankly seeing the interviews I’m going on, either wages have fallen a lot or I was being way overpaid too.
We did good up until the about 2008, when everything for everyone fell apart. But really they closed two warehouses and moved them to a small town in Ohio. The warehouse workers were making minimum $15/hr most were closer to double that. The Ohio workers get a buck more than minimum wage. So you can see the company wasn’t really looking ahead.
The college transcripts don’t mean anything, I graduated college in 2000, so It’s been 11 years, no one cares about that anymore. And I’ve had two “real” jobs since. This and another one.
The company told us in June they’d “probably let me go,” (along with the last 8 mid managers), and they gave me two months to work reduced pay, so it wasn’t like I didn’t have any warning, I was looking hard since July 1st.
As you can guess jobs for managers at the mid level aren’t out there in this economy. And if they were I’m sure they wouldn’t care about a $25.00 fee. It’s the fact, I’m now looking for any kind of job, even minimum wage. Those are the ones I was thinking of.
I looked around the Internet and it does appear that it’s not common but it’s not unusal for ex-employers to charge processing fees for information they give out, I just never heard of it.
Oh well what are you gonna do right?
