Oh yeah?
I have need of a glue that can bond polypropylene to Nylon. If E6000 can do it, I’ll give it Godly status, if not, it’s just a minor deity.

You can **NOT** believe how hard it is to find something that will stick these two materials together…

UHU Por, also called UHU Creativ in some markets, try it.

I have medium length, curly hair. You couldn’t detangle my hair without conditoner. You can barely detangle it if you have the _wrong_ conditioner. (They just “updated” my brand, and the new version doesn’t work as well. Still better than nothing, but trust me, you could tell.)
Drano also works to dissolve the hair that I can’t keep out of the drain.

Method brand cleaning products.

Great. They’re saving the earth or whatever, good for them. But when I use Dawn my dishes get clean. When I use their crap in a bottle, they don’t. They might even get slimier. But no way am I eating off of that. Same with the wipes (again, Comet cleans. Method - not so much.)

Theoretically, I’d love to do more environmentally friendly products. But after a few Method uses, I realized that the whole purpose of cleaning is killing the environment in my kitchen and bathroom. So, I’m using that crap anymore.

If it helps, I can heartily recommend Biokleen laundry detergent (big jug [here](http://www.goodcommonsense.net/bilali64oz.html)), and the green works line from (Clorox? P&G? It’s slipping my mind right now.) The “bathroom cleaner” wasn’t all that good, but that may be because we kind of got into a battle of the wills and no one cleaned our bathroom (out of two or three people living here, depending on timeframe) for probably 3 or 4 months. It wasn’t disgusting, just dirty. (We’re all men :p) The toilet bowl cleaner also makes a good replacement for Soft Scrub, one of my favorite cleaning products.

Those “steam” things that are supposed to blast mildew/dirt/grime/etc. off of tile, etc. I bought one off of one of the tv shopping channels a few years ago and the darned thing didn’t work at all the way it did on tv.

[/QUOTE]

Apologies if this was cleared up later in the thread, but are you talking about something like [this](http://www.amazon.com/Shark-Ultra-Steam-Blaster-S3325/dp/B000BQSJVK/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1207147766&sr=8-6)?

I’m curious because I actually never heard of them marketed as a cleaning tool other than here and on Amazon a few minutes ago. I thought they were for removing wallpaper (?) (It did this well, but I have no idea if it was supposed to).

Don’t laugh. You might remember the stories about the pacemaker type that had defective wires and randomly gave people shocks. I also had reason to look at the design of a chip used by one pacemaker company, and it was the biggest piece of crap imaginable. In fact that design became kind of a joke. After I saw that, I started exercising more. 😛

Actually yes, I have tried it and it works.
It’s just not very convenient for our needs, and it would be better if it was less brittle, but I think we may end up using the industrial version in production.

For a laugh, look at this: [http://www.allsealsinc.com/pdfs/3M\_Scotch\_Weld\_Structural\_Adhesives\_Selection\_Guide.pdf](http://www.allsealsinc.com/pdfs/3M_Scotch_Weld_Structural_Adhesives_Selection_Guide.pdf)
It’s a grid of all the combinations of materials that one might want to glue together, and what glues might work. What’s the one square that’s empty? Nylon + Polypropylene!

I second the Soft Scrub–the opening clogs and becomes an obstacle after the first few uses.

I use Drano just fine in the bathroom; it’s never done a thing in the kitchen for me. I also second the cat box liners–who thought of this? I bought one box (stupid me) and then the penny dropped. :smack:
I used Super Glue to glue #2 son’s lens into his frame–I got tired of it falling out (his lenses are thick, but he prefers wire frames). It worked like charm.

And what is it with pumps on lotion bottles etc? There is still a sizable portion of lotion left in the container–but the pump will not pump it out. I have 2 such containers right now. I unscrew the pump dispenser thing, put some lotion on my hands and replace the dispenser. Grrrr.

There are these strips of adhesive plastic that are supposed to allow you to (essentially) rip out extra hairs from between your brows or in the “mustache” area. I forget what they’re called.

They don’t work at all. I think they might have ripped one hair off once. I don’t have a lot of facial hair (really!), maybe they work better on full on stubble? So, it’s back to plucking…

Oops, I got to thinking and it wasn’t Drano that (allegedly) did that; it was some kind of super toilet bowl cleaner stuff. Missed the edit window.

My problem with these are the ones where the spigot (spout? nozzle?) is not sufficiently curved downward. The bottle I have now, the second time I used it I held my hand under the spigot and depressed the plunger … and the lotion shot out in a straight line and got me in the middle of the chest.

When my old hacked Aiwa from Singapore conked out, I bought one from J-List. Even shipping across the Pacific, the price was still reasonable (though it took about a month to arrive), and for a no-name brand it’s worked just fine for the year and change that I’ve been using it.
